Reviews
This restaurant is currently closed for the pandemic as far as I could tell. Very frustrating that their website indicated they were still open as we woke up early to beat the lines for our favorite restaurant in TC. Doors locked. No sign of explanation on the door. Other patrons walking up and then walking away frustrated. Amie has hands down the best food in TC. Don't let the lines (during normal times) scare you, it's worth the wait. The Oeufs Henri IV Benedict is our hands down favorite with beef filet, grilled artichoke bottoms and bernaise sauce. Amazing.
They make the best Eggs Benedict, I have ever eaten. Eggs Benedict is my test of a restaurant, everywhere I eat. The perfect cut and cook of Meat, the sauce, the Eggs, the Foie Gras, the presentation. The composition, technique, and flavor had no equals. Do yourself a favor, order the Foie Gras Eggs Benedict... it is worth every penny. I will never visit Traverse City without ordering that insanely perfect meal.
Hadn't been here in a few years and figured it was time to check it out again. And a couple friends wanted to meet here too as they like this restaurant. I was a bit disappointed in my salad, I ordered the nicoise and added goat cheese. Don't think I like how it was garnished, the taste didn't agree with me. Had a great cappuccino tho! The service was really good and a perfect lunch during a rainy late Autumn day! In my past visits I ordered a sandwich and a breakfast entrees, those were definitely better! I guess my trying to be healthy did not pay off.
We are trying Patisserie Amie for Sunday brunch during mid-October. So far, a crazy long wait, and an uncomfortable waiting area. The hostess seems very frazzled... The wait time that was quoted to us was one hour and forty minutes. That was very accurate. We were seated at a high top in the very back corner in view of the diner-like kitchen and adjacent to the men's room. From our seat I could smell garbage, and a fly promptly landed on my friend's head. Our server was prompt and our mimosas came out quickly. With them came the fruit flies. We we feeling very skeptical by now, but were trying to enjoy the mimosas and not get too disappointed. Then, our food came out. Amazing. Just amazing. I mean WAY beyond our expectations. Perfect eggs Benedict. The French toast with bananas and chantilly! The French pancake with strawberries. The food could not have been more delicious! Worth the wait? It depends on the situation. But it was I meal I'll not soon forget!
The best breakfast I have ever had. We have been now 6 times and it's friends and family and there isn't a single thing we have ordered that wasn't the best version of itself I have ever had. You must get the hot cocoa, to die for.
